My time at Ball State was arguably the best years of my life thus far. Not only was I was given the opportunity to start my path as a professional journalist and writer, I also found my own voice, developed as person, and made life-long relationships, both personally and professionally. I will always value my time at Ball State University and would recommend it to anyone who is trying to make a name for themselves in the journalism or communications, field.

Established in 1922, The Daily s the national award-winning, on-campus student newspaper at Ball State University, located in Muncie, Indiana. We are an independent news organization, with the mission of providing the campus and Muncie community with breaking news and accurate, timely information. The Daily will always hold a special place in my heart as it was here that my first, professional story was published in 2012
Media Matters
While short-lived, Media Matters was a one-of-a-kind media outlet. The premise was to hire writers who specialized in writing about a particular topic or genre, and that only. For example, my niche was exploring topics on gender and sexuality, while another writer may have focused on technology trends, art, or, different cultures. It was here where I first took a deep dive into writing about gender and sexuality from a journalistic perspective.
